Founder Bill Vestal made the first set of Crystal Stix in 1985 and then continued to design, evolve, and improve his handmade batons and hand-sticks through practice, trial and error, and marketing at Renaissance Festivals and other events for a decade plus. In the mid-1990s Crystal Stix obtained a Utility Patent based on the Air Foil Stabilizer End Piece.
